Photography

The ‘Neat photographic’ team offer a wide range of services for a community of photographers which is ever growing in Bristol. Whilst hosting photographic workshops across the country, Karen Dews and Paul Blakemore have been able to demonstrate the art in B+W photography and digital practice in recent exhibitions in Bristol and London. We have now opened our doors to open talks and discussions with practising photographers and visual artists, providing links for professional careers and advice for ambitious individuals in the world of photography. The B+W developing facilities are based in the converted prison cells at Bridewell Island Custody Department and open to the public to use.

Neat Studios would like to thank all our photographic friends, who have all scrubbed in and helped present a facility which was once a grim space into a red ambience.

- K148 ”Once built the darkrooms have re-opened a dialogue with chemicals images inspired and created using the old techniques photography boasts in it’s archives. Hands on these images are samples from inside the cells.”
