Island Artists Exhibition

Island Artists Exhibition

A new exhibition opened on Saturday! Fellow occupants of the artist’s studios hidden away in the depths of the creative hub that is ‘The Island’ (home of the infamous Carnyville) have got together for a group show, inviting the public to come and see our collective work for the first time.

The exhibition will feature the work of over 20 artists and will be held in the same gallery space as our recent Still Alive exhibition. We’re taking part exhibiting some of our recent works and taking the opportunity to get to know everyone a bit better! It’s on everyday from 12am – 7pm, finishing this Saturday – so come and have a look about!

Expect to see a wide and diverse range of exciting work presented through a variety of disciplines from painting, drawing and photography to sculpture, textiles and printmaking.

Lulu

Incarnatum Exhibition

Incarnatum Exhibition

Hosted by the underground free community and gallery space Emporium www.emporium37.blogspot.com in the heart of Bristol’s Cultural Quarter of Stokes Croft, this eclectic mix of surreal sculptures paintings and drawings were extracts from a self written story by LuLu.Compared by award winning Poet Wilf Merttens and accompanied by acoustic music from Sarah Joy and Jaime Harrison.  The beginning of the night saw people sat round in the hay listening intently to the dark stories and poetry of Wilf moving into the beautiful acoustic music and apocalyptically finishing off the night with dark and eerie dubstep from Bristols Smokelife,  Trufflehunter  and Whatnot.

Lizi Morse Legs

Hello people,

We have a stall booked for this saturday in the Picton fair.  Should be proper Bo I reckon.

In case of rain and to generally make the day more cosey we need a gazebo for the day.  If any one has one we can borrow, or knows of decent folk that will lend it to us please can you let me know.

If peops want to get involved and have stuff to sell can we get that all organised pretty sharpish.  Any work you want to sell needs to be protected from all eventualitites such as rain, cider, ash, (staple guns – my fault) etc, so plastic coated seems to be the way forward.

We have got a table for the day but a free standing wall might be a good idea again as it is better for hanging displays.

Hope all are well and enjoying monday,

Lizi
